How I got here, and where I’m heading next

About me

My name is Marcellin Chavanne. I started my journey at the Université catholique de Louvain, where I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management (2022–2025). This program gave me a solid foundation in economics, management, accounting, and strategic analysis.

Since September 2025, I’ve been pursuing a Master’s degree in Management at the Louvain School of Management, with the INEO option — an interdisciplinary program in entrepreneurship. INEO trains students to create and lead concrete projects, fostering innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. It’s exactly what I was looking for: a framework to experiment, create, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset in a stimulating environment.

My journey and experiences :

2023–2024: first missions and learning experiences

During my studies, I obtained the student-entrepreneur status, which allowed me to work on real projects alongside my courses.

  • I supported an independent fashion designer with her marketing strategy: redefining her brand image and creating new content to attract a wider audience.

  • This project taught me to adapt to very different work environments and collaborate with creative profiles, strengthening my communication, organization, and client-understanding skills.

2024–2025: a complete digitalization project

I then had the opportunity to fully digitalize a farm using Odoo software.

Over the course of one year (August 2024 → August 2025), I:

  • implemented the Purchase, Sales, Inventory, Manufacturing, Invoicing, Accounting, and Point of Sale modules;

  • created a website and an online store;

  • automated product traceability and sales tracking;

  • trained the farm manager to use the system daily.

This project represented over 220 hours of work and allowed me to develop concrete expertise in digital transformation and project management. It also taught me how to understand client needs, structure business processes, and transform a traditional operation into an integrated, efficient system.

2025: startup collaboration – Zhu

From March to September 2025, I worked with Quentin, cofounder of Zhu, a Belgian startup developing an internal communication platform for companies.

I managed content creation, sales prospecting (cold emailing, networking events), and online brand presence.

We participated together in the Mind&Market event in Marche-en-Famenne, where we attended a sales workshop and pitched Zhu in front of a jury.

This experience gave me direct exposure to the realities of startup development: communication strategy, client acquisition, storytelling, and rapid iteration.

2025–2026: building my own project – Vonalo

I am currently developing Vonalo, a note-taking app designed for professionals on the move. The goal is to make capturing and organizing ideas more fluid and accessible anywhere.

 The first version has already been launched, and the app currently has active users. I am now in a prospecting phase, reaching out to new users to expand the community, collect feedback, and continuously improve the product experience.

What I’ve learned from these experience ?:

  • Planning, organizing, and structuring a project from start to finish.

  • Stepping out of my comfort zone to learn new technical and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding real user needs and adapting solutions pragmatically.

  • Collaborating effectively with diverse profiles and creating structure around shared goals.

Understanding my MBTI profile

The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is a psychological framework used to understand personality types. It classifies people into 16 types based on four dimensions:

  • Energy orientation : Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I): how a person gains energy, either from interaction with others or from time alone.

  • Information processing : Sensing (S) or Intuition (N): how a person perceives and gathers information, either through concrete facts or abstract concepts.

  • Decision-making : Thinking (T) or Feeling (F): how decisions are made, based on logic or personal values.

  • Lifestyle and organization : Judging (J) or Perceiving (P): how a person approaches the outside world, preferring structure or flexibility.

Each type combines these traits into a unique personality pattern that influences how people think, communicate, and work.

My type is: ISTJ : Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging.

This means I’m pragmatic, structured, and detail-oriented. I value organization and efficiency, enjoy solving concrete problems, and prefer logical, fact-based reasoning. I work best when there is a clear plan and a tangible goal to achieve.

What’s next ?

I aim to continue developing Vonalo and, through the INEO program, to strengthen my entrepreneurial methodology : learning how to create, test, and grow impactful projects. I am also looking forward to starting my internship, which will be a key opportunity to deepen my skills and discover how large organizations operate (see below for more).

For me, entrepreneurship is a pretext for personal growth: facing challenges, learning fast, creating useful solutions, and contributing to something greater than myself.

My Ideal Internship

As I continue shaping my entrepreneurial and professional journey, I am now looking for an internship that will challenge me, accelerate my learning, and expose me to large-scale organizational structures. My ideal environment would be a consulting firm with several thousand employees, operating in a fast-paced and structured ecosystem. Unlike startups or small businesses, where processes are still emerging or largely implicit, large consulting organizations offer refined methodologies, proven systems, and a level of operational excellence that I want to understand firsthand.

Ideally, I would like to work in Luxembourg, close to home, with a reasonable commute. I am seeking an environment that is intense, demanding, and highly formative : a place where I can learn through real responsibility. I want to contribute to delivering high-value work by solving concrete client problems and benefiting from structured training programs delivered by experienced consultants.

What I Expect to Learn

Through this internship, I hope to understand how a large consulting company operates: its systems, workflows, and internal logic. I want to learn how complex business problems are decomposed, analyzed, and solved rapidly thanks to well-established methodologies.

I am also interested in understanding how teams collaborate, how responsibilities are allocated, and how managers coordinate and drive performance. Developing new skills, mastering new processes, and improving my ability to think analytically under pressure are central goals for me.

What I Imagine in My Daily Work

On a day-to-day basis, I expect to attend meetings with managers to align on priorities, receive feedback, and make sure I am moving in the right direction. A clear onboarding process would help me understand the company’s expectations, culture, and working methods from the start.

I imagine spending most of my time working on a concrete client problem : analyzing data, preparing deliverables, and understanding the client’s industry. Ideally, I would also visit client sites when possible to better understand their operations and context.

Finally, I look forward to collaborating with juniors, experts, and managers, observing how they interact, and learning how high-performing teams communicate and execute. A clear framework, explicit objectives, and structured expectations are essential for me, as these conditions allow me to work efficiently and deliver my best work.
